The
Push Kings sing
Number Ones at the
CMJ Music Marathon in NYC.
The
Push Kings were fronted by the singing guitarist brothers Carrick Moore Gerety and Finn Moore Gerety, and are from the Boston area. The band is rounded out with drummer David Benjamin and bassist Matt Fishbeck. Their music is a rough but melodic blend that brings the Beatles crossed with grunge. The band is mostly influenced by Pavement and other early U.S. indie bands.
The Push Kings signed to the label Sealed Fate (run by the Dambuilders' Eric Masunaga), and they released their self-titled debut album in 1997 to rave reviews.
Number Ones was one of their sweetest melodies and a big hit. The recording was done at the CMJ Music Marathon in September of 1997.
Push Kings
The quality is medium and the sound is good. This is a very early digital recording at the Spiral Lounge in New York City. It is dark, sound is loud, and you are there.
