The Libertines Live @ 12 Bar Club is a dream come true for the true fans of UK music.
Straight out of the best club on Tin Pan Alley, 12 Bar Club, this DVD captures a time when
Pete Doherty and
Carl Barāt were forming the songs that would shape the sound of music for the first decade of the new millennium. This was the beginning of their magical mystery tour to fame and fortune.
Pete Doherty and Carl Barāt were creating a real music scene in their North London apartment putting some of the best grunge pop rock together in an Andy Warhol type atmosphere as rotating support musicians rolled through.
It was a blessing of musical history that Rick Siegel came through the UK to record and catalog almost every new act to come out from 1998 to 2003.
The Libertines played at one of the premiere clubs on his route - The
12 Bar Club. So many fans have dreamed that someone had these tasty morsels of bands, when they were young and starting out, to release when history demands it.
The lighting at the clubs, of course, leaves a lot to be desired but the sound from the 12 Bar Club boards is superior and often is better than being there live.
So you are invited to step back to hear and see
The Libertines before they were big and before they were signed. This taste of history is why the band has reformed - the demands of fans that won't give up on one of the most incredible acts to come out of the UK.
